![]() If the current "Windows cloud saves" were deleted, it would at least be solved on my end.įrom what I've read, though, it *seems* possible that SoR could be modified/updated to properly interpret the right save paths for cloud data based on OS. Since I *only* use Linux now, I wish Valve/Steam or the dev would provide a way to delete existing cloud saves so that I can just sync new ones from Linux to resolve this problem. Not exactly sure what that entails on the developer side of things. Other game devs from some searching I did online, seemed to resolve this by doing something called a "rootoverride" or "changing UFS settings". But since that location does not exist on Mac or Linux, it can't find where to download the cloud saves to. The issue is that it looks like Streets of Rogue, if it has existing Windows save files in the cloud, will constantly look for a "Windows-style" path (like Appdata/local/etc) to place the cloud saves. Sorry to resurrect a super old thread, but this also happens from Windows -> Linux.Ĭhecking Steam error.log reveals "failed to resolve path before download". Ive played a few games where it seems like some specific issue triggered an automatic failure for Steam Deck compatibility. I'd be really thankful for some insight here, because, apart from that, I really enjoy this game - cheers! ![]() Now I don't really know what more there is for me to do about this problem.ĭoesn't progress carry over between Mac and Windows or what's the problem here? One of the reasons I initially bought this game was to be able to play it on the go on my working laptop, so it'd be a bummer if my progress won't be saved cross-platform. Interestingly enough, after I first started it on my Windows PC and played one round, Steam on my Mac showed me a cloud syncing conflict between the Windows cloud save file and the Mac local save file which I resolved with the option to re-upload my Mac save into the cloud but when I started it on my Windows PC again after this it apparently didn't register the cloud save file again. But when I played it on my Windows computer at home I had to start from scratch and none of my progress carried over (it even wanted me to do the tutorial again).Ĭloud saving on Steam in general and specifically for Streets of Rogue is definitely enabled (it also shows me the cloud symbol in my game library) cloud saving also works for other games like Shovel Knight between those two platforms so I doubt the problem lies with my Steam cloud settings. YouTube stats: 1 new videos uploaded yesterday.I first started playing Streets of Rogue on my Macbook und earned some nuggets on this save.
